“Kokua For Japan” Raises $1.6 Million for Japan Earthquake, Tsunami Relief Efforts
Doobie Brother Patrick Simmons and Doobie alumni Michael McDonald were both part of an all-star lineup for the Kokua For Japan fundraiser concert. Other legendary (and currently Maui-based) musicians in the lineup included Mick Fleetwood, Willie Nelson, Hutch Hutchinson, and Jack Johnson, among many other great talents.
While this event was a success, the money raised is dwarfed by the monumental cost of the relief efforts in Japan. Kokua For Japan is still taking donations for the American Red Cross through their website – it’s a great way to help out this worthy cause. For donation details, go to http://www.kokuaforjapan.com/
