At long last, at least since the Mike McD years, possibly the greatest American R&R band is getting respect!!

Wow! The Doobies are coming back to Australia for another concert next year. I waited 30 years to see them, for the second time, when they visited Australia again a couple of years back. I just love ‘em! I was at their first Sydney concert during the 1970s. Somehow, for this second visit, I managed to get a front row seat at the Wollongong NSW concert. I was over the moon! I could NOT believe my luck having queued, very early, to get the best seat that I possibly could. There they were, undoubtedly my favourite Band ever, right in front of me. Then, people jumped up in front of the stage wanting to dance. The security people (realising they had an unfair advantage and would block the view of many) asked them to go back to their seats and most obliged until Tom Johnston made the comment that HE didn’t mind! Well, that was that. They flocked out to the front of the stage until there were so many people that, from the first row, I could NOT see the stage at all. I was unbelievably disappointed. I’m sure that Tom Johnston wouldn’t have done that had he known. From up there on the stage, he didn’t realise that he had effectively cut off the vision from the front section of the audience. To this day, it disappoints me terribly. Why don’t you try somehow get a message to Tom and let him know this. I am going to try to get a ticket to this next concert, in March 2011 but I know I won’t get lucky enough to gainthe quality seat that I paid for and believed I had, the last time they came here. I am VERY disappointed.

Saw the Doobie Bros in Westbury – the show was FANTASTIC – I’ve been to Westbury shows many times but the Doobies are the only band that gets the crowd on their feet and they don’t sit down. Who can? The music is soooooooo good you just need to stay on your feet. You guys sound better than ever. The only complaint is that they didn’t do more songs from World Gone Crazy – that CD is
music at it’s best. Thank you for all the years great music and performances. Can’t wait to see 2011 concert lineup so that I can get me tickets for whenever you are in the tri-state area. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Lots of Love – Angela “RoadAngel” from Brooklyn, NY. xoxox

Saw the boys on Imus this morning. Good stuff. They’ve got to be pooped after their Europe tour. I’m really enjoying this new album.

Saw the Brothers in West Palm a couple of weeks ago. As always, just the greatest. New album is super. Full of new classics to complement the old.
