I enjoyed this interview with Pat. He’s so cool, so grounded, so humble.

I’m glad Pat mentioned Michael Hossack’s drumming acumen. Michael is brilliant and deserves major props! Every song he touches..elevates.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAT! YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST…ONE OF THE BEST GUITARISTS, SONG WRITERS, SINGERS AND ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS THAT IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE YOU ARE A MUSICIAN. LOL
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS! MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE!!!

Pat Simmons is the reason I have played guitar for the last 35 years. He is also the reason why I have a ‘problem’ with red Gibson 335′s …..a problem i’m dealing with…..but thats another story for another time. When Gibson used to have a warranty card …they would ask who were your favorite guitar players, I would always put Pat first, George McCorkle second, and third would vary…..I had the awesome opportunity to have George McCorkle as my best friend for 20 years as we played together (after he left Marshall Tucker). Pat Simmons is one of those quiet heros in the life. Humble, Talented, magical, intelligent, and flat out rocks!…..etc. I know he hears it all the time but there are people who have a deep influence from Pat Simmons….I am one.
