The Doobie Brothers Issue Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DOOBIE BROTHERS SIGN WITH HOR ENTERTAINMENT
Album Due 9/28 From Veteran Staff At New Independent Label
(WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.) As they prepare to release their thirteenth studio album, World Gone Crazy, on the eve of the 40th anniversary of their first album release, the Doobie Brothers have signed with HOR Entertainment, a full-service imprint and entertainment services company led by a team of deeply experienced music industry professionals.
The Doobies are a quintessentially American rock-n-roll band who have combined elements of rock, blues, soul, country, jazz and more into one of the most appealing blends of popular music of the last half-century.
Their indelible contributions to the American songbook – from “Listen To The Music” and “China Grove” to “Black Water” and “Long Train Runnin’” – remain as beloved and relevant as ever. But Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, John McFee and Mike Hossack are far from resting on those considerable laurels.
And if ever a company came close to matching the skill, craft, heart and passion of the Doobie Brothers, it’s HOR Entertainment. Launched in October of last year, HOR brings a record division, publishing, film & television and merchandise under one roof. The executive team is loaded with experienced industry veterans poised to bring a fresh approach to the ever-changing music business.
“I am very happy to see the band sign to HOR,” says the Doobie Brothers’ manager Bruce Cohn. “I think it’s a great opportunity for HOR to work with a heritage band and for the Doobies to have the focus of the entire company for their release…a win/win situation for all concerned!”
CEO/Head of A&R Larry Lee understands the business as few can, having been an artist, writer, producer and executive. His credits include Mr. Big, Meatloaf, Roger Daltry and more. President/Head of A&R Curt Cuomo is a Grammy-nominated writer and producer who has worked with KISS, Eddie Money, Edgar Winter, Slash and Clint Black, among others.
“After a decade the Doobie Brothers have made, what I consider to be a career album, with their longtime legendary producer Ted Templeman. I am thrilled that HOR Records will be releasing the Doobie Brothers’ World Gone Crazy and we look forward to being a part of the band’s next chapter in music history,” said Lee.
Other executives include: Business & Legal Affairs/A&R Scott Bradford (Panic! At The Disco, The Shins, Plain White T’s), VP/New Media Hab Haddad (KISS, Ted Nugent, Night Ranger, Hootie & The Blowfish) and VP/Marketing & Promotions Bob Divney (Green Day, Faith No More, Audioslave, Depeche Mode).
World Gone Crazy will be released Sept. 28 on HOR Records.

Loved “Nobody” on the first ALBUM and love it now on the new CD. Was at the concert Saturday at Jones Beach and the Doobies “Rocked the House”. The band sounds sooooooooo good. However, missed seeing Skylark & Big Mike. I will be one of the first to purchase “World Gone Crazy” – keep the music coming. Lots of Love, Angela “RoadAngel” xoxoxo

Hi Guys, Hope the new CD is released here in the UK in Sept too, can’t wait to hear the new tunes. And thanks for taking note of all the coments from your British fans for some live shows here in the UK. I was gobsmacked when I saw that you are playing in Manchester in November, Just 40 miles from home. It will be a much quicker journey than the one to Saratogo last September. Although would not have missed that for the world, the Mountain Winery is an amazing venue for a concert. So see you in November, It would be great to see Skylark and Big Mike again but don’t let them rush their recovery. Keep on Rocking Down the Highway,
Alan

I first saw the Doobie Brothers in Long Beach, CA in 1972 as warm-up band for T-Rex right after the release of Listen to the Music. I’ve loved the music since then and seen the band many times over the years. Thanks! Can’t wait to hear the new CD.

My mom has been a Doobie Brothers fan since the beginning. Tomorrow is her birthday and six of her seven daughters (and a grand-daughter) are taking her to see the Doobie Brothers and Chicago at Verizon Wireless. We were raised on the Doobie Brothers and Chicago. Happy Birthday Mom!

In 1972 I was in the record shop looking for an Aretha Franklin track when I came across the first Doobie Brother album. For some reason I purchased it. What a buy, the sosund was so different to anything else we had in the UK. 39years later I am still buying their records.
I have purchased my tickets for their show in Bristol UK on 30 October 2010. We don’t get many chances to see them live in the UK and I am really looking forward to the concert.

If there was any remaining doubt about why The Doobie Brothers rate among the best in the history of rock, this excellent re-release of “Nobody,” and almost certainly the forthcoming album, will remove those doubts.

Guys
Thanks for all of the wonderful years you have provided great music to all of us. I have been a fan since 1972 and try to make it to all your concerts in California. Having watched you for all these years, I have appreciated the bond you have for each other as brothers. You have had a lot of ups and downs though you have weathered the storms. Keep enjoying what you do, it shows in your music!

We always warm up with your concert at Wolf Trap before every gig. It’s so inspiring. All good wishes for the future and keep on rockin’.
