Doobie Brothers Bassist to Sit Out Tour Dates
Due to health circumstances, Doobie Brothers bassist Skylark will be temporarily absent from the Doobie Brothers’ 2010 tour. Filling in on bass is John Cowan, who many of you may remember was part of the Doobies’ touring lineup in the early 1990s.
All of us are wishing Skylark a full and speedy recovery, and we are hoping he can rejoin the tour at some point in the Summer!
If you would like to send Skylark an email, use the Fan Mail form. If you would like to send him postal mail, simply write to the management office at the address below:

Hey, y’all tell Skylark to get well and join the road when he can! Interesting note that John Cowan is filling in, though…I missed the tour(s) he made in the 90s, and haven’t seen him since the New Grass Revival! Looking forward to June in Dallas either way, fellas. Love what you do–and can’t wait for the new album and DVD! Peace and Love from the Edge of the Desert.

Saw the show last night at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ, and it was fantastic. You guys still rock! What a great concert….no other bands, just The Doobies! I’m a bit of a British prog man myself, but I’ve always loved The Doobie Brothers and last night’s show was awesome. Great job guys! Thanks! And keep it going!

Caught the show at Caesar’s – Atlantic City. I loved every second of the show – you guys can really rock the house. Thank you John Cowan for filling in – you filled in nicely. SKYLARK – get well soon because your energy on stage was missed but Pat did a great job getting the audience up! Hope to see you with the band on July 10th – I will be there. I can’t get enough and will catch the band whenever you are in the Tri-State area (especially the NY area). Lots of Love – Angela “RoadAngel”

Skylark – Hopefully, this note finds that you’ve recovered and have or are planning to join the tour. You’ve undoubtedly been missed at the Doobie Brothers shows to this point – and if you’re not at the Atlanta show at Chastain Park next month, you’ll definitely be missed. Your contributions to the Band’s current configuration have been amazing – and I’ve followed the Doobie Brothers since Tiran was the bassist. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed chatting with you and the other guys at after show meet and greets. Thanks for taking the time to do so. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Show at Jones beach last night was the best the wife and i have seen from the band in a numbers of years. You guys are getting better and better. I love the line up with Chicago this year. When you all came out on stage and jammed for 20 minutes on each others hits I thought it was the most incredible sound I have heard at the beach EVER!. I thought you guys were gonna blow up the sound system. AWESOME! Though John did a great job, SKYLARK GET WELL AND COME BACK SOON!

My wife and I saw the show last thursday night 24th march 2011 in Brisbane, Australia. You were sadly missed. I saw you there last time, and you gave me one of your plectrums, even though I know you don’t use them, I kept it for years and occassionally used it. We wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to your next trip down under. Your concerned fans,
Jeff and Theodora
