Our two favorite groups on the stage on the same night. What a double header of classic music by two groups composed of fantastic musicians. Looking forward to three nights of ROCK as the boys come to the east coast. Sweet sounds at Hershey!! Get our those tie dyed Doobies shirts and lets ROCK.

Indeed, another shout out for more “smaller” venue/less “major” cities. Many fans live in the heartland and are not able to obtain tickets or travel 200 miles or more in order to fulfill their unslaked thirst for live performance. In some cases (like my own, it’s been at least 5 years). Last year by the time I learned of a “nearby” possibility, tickets were gone (1 1/2 months in advance). To be sure only a 1500 seat venue, and good to the spirit of “small venue”, but not enough of a “good thing”. Understandably, you can’t travel everywhere all the time and normal “family” life calls, but loving what you’re doing for the last 38 years – mark me down as can’t get enough. Thank you for what you do and who you are.

I saw ” The Doobies” one week ago tonight at The Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Ms. My God, what a show!! These guys can still do it! They have so much energy! I would have paid more than what I paid ($45) , for tickets to this show. I got MORE than my money’s worth. And, it was in such a small intimate setting. Every seat was great. It was my 25th wedding anniversary. I hope to go see them in Dallas in June with Chicago performing with them. It was my first time to see them live, though I have been a fan since 1973. If you get a chance, go see them. You will not be disappointed. You will fall in Love with them. God bless every Doobie fan out there. Love ya all!!!!!

I missed seeing the Doobies play at The Rainbow theatre London England in 1975 so I bought a ticket to see them at The West Coast Music Show at Ninian Park Cardiff Wales U.K. on June 19th 1976. Unfortunately the boys couldn’t make it , I was devastated but still went along – Bob Marley and the wailers played instead and so did Country Joe and the Fish and The Pretty Things, which was a fantastic experience. Come on Tom and Pat how about The Millenium Stadium Cardiff? Bruce Springsteen is playing here in June so what about The Doobies and Chicago in Cardiff? You would get a tremendous welcome in the hillside. ( home of bands such as Man , Amen Corner, Badfinger,The Manics,Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey,Stereophonics ) Make a Welsh boy VERY happy .

Just saw the 2008 tour, and to our disappointment, the doobies are not coming to Pittsburgh, pa. Chicago plays here every year so we thought they would be joining them. I have been watching and waiting the last few years for the doobies to play here. Any chance the post gazette pavillion will be added to the schedule? I loved the wolf trap concert and look forward to seeing them in person.

Just would like to share this. I have a mixer board that I have had for about 25 years. I used this board for live venues around Santa Cruz/Los Gatos area and in the day it was a great sound. The board is a Ampeg SR6. This board probably has no value today except for this…… Just a couple of years ago I thought I would use this board for home projects but the pots were very dirty and noisy. So I decided to open up the enclosure to clean components and the hardware. Inside the enclosure there is envelope glue to top side of the casing with a schematic of the circuitry inside the envelope. To my surprise, I see this note on the back of the schematic that reads like this:
“This board was bought brand new in May 1970. It was purchased for the bands first paying gig in St. James park in San Jose CAL.
We do hope who ever ends up with it goes as far as we did
Teddy Templeman
Road Manager
The Doobie Brothers
September 1972
Not sure what to do with board
Archie Hughes

To Archie Hughes:
I have spoken with the band about this, as I was very suspicious immediately given that Ted Templeman was never the road manager for The Doobie Brothers, and also that the note was supposedly written in 1972, which was too early in the Doobies’ career for anyone to have the kind of hindsight implied in the statement “We do hope who ever ends up with it goes as far as we did…”
I’m not going to accuse you of being the perpetrator of the scam here, but please be advised that this note is a forgery, and a poorly researched one at that.

The Doobie Brothers and George Thoroughgood played in Corpus Christi, Tx at the concrete street ampitheater last night, March 12, 2008. The show started off with George Thoroughgood, coming out rocking and the dusk just settling into night. George came out rocking and didnt stop for the entire show. He rocked this town hard and put on a great show with his classics as well as a couple I havent heard before. The sound quality was excellent, I sat stage right, 7th row and had a great view of the entire show. A couple of extended leads on a few of his songs showed George still enjoys putting on a show and makes the crowd have a blast during it. Plenty of communication with the crowd during his monologue’s as George (and most entertainers) got the crowd jumping and yelling responses as the band rocked on and on. George was called back once where he had saved one of his best for last, Bad to the Bone.
His vocals were almost perfect on the mark as was his guitar playing. The band behind him seemed to have fun most of the night (only a few times did the bassist look bored). a THOROUGHGOODLY enjoyable show.
After a short break, all hell broke loose and The Doobie Brothers took the stage. Starting off powerful and showing that 20+ years of performing experience has taught these guys one thing at the least, they are going to rock your socks off with the music which has made them a household name. Rockin down the highway, Takin it to the streets, Long Train Runnin and Take me in your arms (Rock me a little while) had the crown on their feet, dancing, singing along and having the time of their lives. The sound was incredible, the harmonies were pitch perfect, the 3 leads, sax and keys were mezmerizing as the dual drums drive the tempo for the sweetest trip though the songs that we’ve all loved for years.
The light show for The Doobie Brothers left a little to be desired though. As did the camera operator, he either missed all of his lead cues, or wasnt getting any cues at all. The Doobie Brothers put on a show that’s worthy of a true light director, and AT LEAST 3 follow spots to highlight who’s playing the often switched lead riffs. One follow spot, and/or an inattentive light director is simply not enough for such a band.
The Doobie Brothers were called back once for more and they laid it down, the crowd ate it up and rocked on into the night. It seemed too short though and soon they walked off the stage again. The crowd went wild for more but alas, the canned music started and everyone knew that was it. It was one complete and kickbutt rock and role show. They played my favorites, they played the best I’ve seen for years.
Where ever they are going to next, get ready to rock. The Doobie Brothers are coming, and they are putting on shows just like back in the 70’s, performing flawlessly (especially the guitar duet in the first half of the show) and rocking the audience all night.

As i log on daily to read the latest in the World of the Doobies expecting to read what is long over due and that is the induction of this Premier group of talented musicians into the rock and roll hall of fame. In my mind and im sure in the minds of all of the bands fans this should have happened years and yeras ago. As i sit and watch others get inducted i can’t for the life of me figure out why this has not happened yet to the Doobies.
As they enter into another year of touring after putting in a gruelling 2007 tour and to be working on a new cd and DVD this excites me.
This band has been a round when records and 8 tracks were the only way to listen to music, come and gone are cassettes , and now on to CD and DVD.
As these guys are preparing to once again put together a 2008 tour to give their fans what they want and that is to hear them play your fans to the North in Canada await your arrival.
See you in Southern Ontario Guys.

I saw the Doobies in Corpus Christi a few weeks ago. It was the first time I had seen them since my senior year in high school in 1979 at Arrowhead Stadium. What a great show. Dark Eyed Cajun Women was one of the last songs they played. Wow, blew me a way. Well worth the price of admission and then some.

This is too good to be true! I get to see the Doobie Brothers twice in less than a one year span! I saw the Doobie Brothers in Houston October 2007 and now their coming to The Woodlands in June. Hands down the Doobie Brothers concert is the best concert I have ever been to. They have remained true to their music. If you have the opportunity to go, Don’t miss it! My father introduced me to the DB music when I was a child. So I have been a fan of their music for as long a I can remember. My dad died one month before their concert. I really wanted to take him to that concert. He would have loved it. I some how got to meet Pat Simmons that night and it was one of the best nights of my life. Thanks for the pick Pat. I’ll cherish it forever! Love from one of your biggest fans!

i hope to see you guys in GEORGIA, im 16 years old and im your guy’s biggest fan. i really hope to get tickets, i would sleep outside for a week just to get some of your tickets. its just not fair, my parents will always talk about all the concerts they have been to in their days, including yours, and i always ask them if i can go to one soon, but prices on tickets just keep going up and up and we just dont have that kind of money. i have never been to a concert, and if i dont get to see one soon, bands like you and other classic rock bands wont play anymore because they have to settle down with their lives and catch up on things. well, its not like i have a problem with that, i just want to be like my parents and tell my kids that i got to see your and other classic rock bands shows. i love you guys, i hope you guys have fun on your 2008 tour with chicago, and i also give good luck Tom to your daughter Lara, she is a great singer . keep on rockin, and i hope to see you in Atlanta, Georgia.

Pat, I met you (introduced myself to you) in the Tucson Airport Thursday morning and flew with you to Houston. I gotta say I had a million questions I wanted to ask, having been a huge fan since I was 17 (back in 1972). But hey, I know you get questions and requests all the time and you deserve your privacy, even on a public flight, so I withheld. It was a great pleasure to meet and speak with you. Had I stolen more of your time, I would have told you that I hold Stampede highest on my list of favorite Doobie albums and consider it some of your best work, very underrated, and I still get chills every time I hear Neal’s Fandango. So, from an ordinary fan in an ordinary North Carolina town, hats off to you and all you’ve done for me and my closest friends over the years. My band mates and I all agree that we were born in the best of musical times, to have been Doobie Brother fans from high school on. I’ll try to catch you guys in Myrtle Beach next month if I can find tickets. And if you ever find yourself coming to NC with a couple spare days to kill, email me and I’ll put you up at my place down in Topsail Beach, NC. It’s very quiet there and the fishing ain’t so bad either. My place sleeps seven, so your whole family is invited.

Just saw your show here in Concord, CA..You guys are fantastic! I can not belive after all these years how unbeliveably great you guys are! You are timeless! I took my kids to show what music was like when I was young. They were astounded by your professionalism and the quality of your music. None of the band from thier generation can compare! Add to that the fact that you jammed with Chicago and they were blown away. This is the best concert I have been to in years! Thanks so much guys and thanks for showing my kids what REAL music is.

Outstanding! Your Kansas City concert was proof that authentic Rock-n-Roll bands know how to put on a show that makes the music the focus and not the fancy light shows! (Unless of course, you guys arranged the incredible lightning and thundershowers.) Just saw the Doobie Brothers and Chicago last night. What a great concert (of course I knew they would be because I saw them in Seattle 2 years ago and they were terrific there)! Have to admit I thought what really blew the top off the place was when they came back on with Chicago and played Takin’ to the Streets as well as 25 or 6 to 4. What a perfect combination of two bands together. Whoever thought that one up was a stroke of genius. THANKS!!!!!!!!

WOW! You rocked in Dallas last night! I was one of the old(er) ladies on the front row last night – actually I was the one who through the bra on stage!
Nothing can describe how much all 8 of us enjoyed your show. Each of you simply beamed with happiness, and that spread to all of your adoring fans – myself included. Thank you so much!

What a show in Cincinnati. The Doobie Brothers blew the roof off Riverbend. THis band just keeps getting better and better. The opening four numbers were awesome. Dangerous may be the best live rock song I have ever heard.
The encore with Chicago was incredible. Listening to the Chicago horns back the Doobie Brothers was worth the price of the ticket. Marc Russo’s duelimg sax solo with Chicago’s Walt Parazader on Free was nothing short of amazing. Great show.

The Doobie Brothers and Chicago ROCKED Hershey Pavilion last night under cool star filled night. As always, this band delivers with their awesome live performances of the songs we love to hear. Both the Doobies and Chicago played well executed sets of hits and fan favorites, but the highlight of this tour are the six songs that they play together. What an awesome visual sight and delight to the ears. Six guitarists, three drummers, three pianists, four man horn section, 16 musicians on stage singing “listen to the music”. Seven days to Camden, NJ 1st row in the pit, at the stage, in heaven watching and listening to my two favorite bands. PRICELESS

Saw the show in Chicago. I was especially looking forward to seeing the two bands play together. Great choices for songs from both bands for that part of the show. Taking It to the Streets was especially cool with Champlin and Lamm singing parts.

We saw the Doobies play w/Chicago at the outdoor Pine Knob/DTE Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mi. on 6/21/08. Even though my wife and I are going to hear Chicago in Boston at a private event on 7/11/08, the group I came to hear was the Doobies. You guys are as good as ever. Keep……. Rockin’ down the Highway.

Awesome show in Hersey a couple of weeks ago!! It coincided with our trip to PA (we’re in NC) so we were very excited to get to see the show there. This was my first time seeing the Doobie Brothers in concert, and I was incredibly impressed!! You guys are tight, your harmonies are impeccable, and you know how to put on a great show.
Like others mentioned, I especially liked the combined set with Chicago at the end. It was definitely the highlight of the evening to see two great bands share songs like that. I could have listened to that all night long!

Was sick to miss your Dallas engagement…father’s day was a bad date for the concert as I had to be elsewhere and could not attend. So – did the next-best thing and ordered your DVD (Wolftrap Live I think it was titled) off Amazon. HOPE YOU COMBINE w/ CHicago one more summer (2009) and I will be there. P.S. Assuming you avoid father’s day 2009 and pick a better date for Dallas. P.S.S. Would have flown out to the Vegas concert in July but Doobie/Chicago is the magic ticket for me (not 3 Dog Night).

My son gave me the ULTIMATE father’s day gift: Seeing the Doobies and Chicago at the Northerly Island outdoor arena in Chicago June 20th. They were phenomenal. Playing each other’s tunes at the end was an incredible rush. Missed Keith Knudson. RIP. We had to laugh at some guys toward the front waiving canes and walkers over their heads in time to the music. Boomers still rule rock and roll.

Wow! The earth MOVED at Bethel on Sunday night! Unbelievable! Each band gave 125% of themselves and then some MORE during the last part! Thanks for making it so very memorable. I’m looking for all my old CD’s, tapes (yes, even the 8 tracks) and buying more. The talent on stage was mind-blowing.
Thanks again and many more years of playing and good health!

Amazing show at BoA arena in Boston this evening. One of the best and longest shows I have seen at that arena. Well worth every penny. A fabulous show and hope to see them both together again soon! They sounded great by themselves and even better together! Wow!

FANTASTIC show last night in Boston. What a night – great weather and 3 1/2 hours of Classic Hits. Starting with Nico (young Italian guy with a fantastic voice) then an Hour long set by the Doobies followed by an Hour long set by Chicago and then a 6 song encore featuring BOTH band – 16 people onstage. What a great night. I was right up front for the end of the show. I have never seen the Doobies before, so they were a true treat – China Grove – Listen to the Music – Black Water – Long Train Running – were higlights. Chicago played fantastic renditions of 25 or 6 to 4 – Does Anyone Really Know What Time it Is? – Make Me Smile – Just You ‘N Me – Hard Habit to Break – this hits go on and on. Nico came out and sang “If You Leave Me Now” – That kid will be a star! The show was worth every peeny for the ticket – Thanks Doobies & Chicago for an Awesome NIght! Cheer- Todd

I agree with Todd. The PNC show in NJ was great! I wish there was more Doobies. Need more then 1 hr!!
The half hour final set with both bands was more like a rock orchestra. 4 guitarists, 4 horns, 3 drummers,
2 bassists, 3 keyboards, and about 14 singers. Quite a sight!!

Just got home, The Doobies kicked A@#!!!! What a great show. South Side Mid Night Lady brought back so many memories. Chicago was good but the vocals were lacking. The Doobies didn’t miss a beat and sounded the same as I remember back in the 70’s. I could go on and on… But I think a simple THANK YOU will do.. Take care guy’s hope you come back to Saratoga NY again. Ken & Kathleen Saratoga NY

Thanks Doobie Brothers and Chicago for an awesome set of shows this summer. My wife and I got to to see this fantastic double bill three times, and were in pure heaven sitting in the front row center in Camden. The Doobies ROCKED as always, and so did Chicago, and when all 16 musicians powered their way through 6 classic songs to pakced houses with people dancing and singing along, priceless.
I hope they do a rerun of this tour next summer. THANK YOU Doobie Brothers for bringing pleasure to our lives, forget the high gas prices, the inflation, the election. Music is the doctor!!!

Last nights show in Redmond, WA was excellent. A responsive crowd and the rain held off all night. Double Dealin’ Four Flusher, Jesus is Just Alright, Long Train Runnin’ and Without You were played to perfection. Tommy was pumped and got the crowd going. What a great evening of 70’s Doobie classics. Thanks men!
